Transcorp Removals & Storage offers removals insurance for complete peace of mind. While our experienced removalists take the utmost care with all items they handle, we want our customers to relax knowing they’re covered in case of accident, theft or breakage.

Because we understand it can be confusing to organise removals and storage insurance yourself, our qualified representatives can assist you with organising your insurance without the need to go through a third party broker or insurance agent. This is because we’re an accredited AFRA insurance provider. If a removalist is not an AFRA member, they aren’t legally able to directly offer insurance to protect your goods. AFRA is there to protect you!

Remember, your insurance paperwork MUST be completed, signed off, sent back to us and the premium paid prior to any work commencing.

Do I Need Removals Insurance?

At Transcorp, we recommend that all of our customers take out removalists insurance to ensure peace of mind for their move. Regardless of how careful our professional removalists might be, accidents do happen and you need to have peace of mind that your household / office goods are protected. While we aim to take the greatest care with all belongings we handle, taking out removals insurance will ensure your belongings are covered in case of accident, theft or breakage. Please Note – Insurance excess applies and kindly read our PDS to ensure the cover is right for you.

If You Store My Goods, Do I Have to Take Out Separate Insurance to Cover This?

We recommend that all storage customers consider insurance to cover their goods while in storage. However, as an AFRA accredited insurance provider, we’re able to arrange insurance directly with you so you won’t have to go through a separate third party insurance provider for storage of household and business goods.

What Removalist Insurance Options Do You Provide?

We offer a range of removals insurance options, including Full cover as a “blanket cover” (most popular) or Full cover with the option of your selected “itemized list” being insured. We also offer full cover charged monthly for storage. Which option is best for you will depend on a range of factors, including whether you’re moving locally or relocating to another state in Australia. Please read our PDS to ensure these products are suitable for you.

Full Cover (Most Popular)

Our full cover insurance covers damage to your goods during loading, transit and unloading of the truck/ container.

Storage Extension

Our storage insurance covers damage to household and business goods while at Transcorp’s managed storage facility due to flood, fire or theft.

Interstate Removalist Insurance Rates for Transit, Removal & Storage

Note: For ALL interstate insurance options there is a minimum charge (Refer below) and as a guide we strongly recommend you consider the value of your home contents policy or perhaps consider the industry average per m3 is $1000/ m3 moved. Therefore, as an example, a 20m3 move could be insured as $20,000 of contents value.

Declared Value Of Your Goods    $Your Value (refer Insurance Declaration that you completed)

Removal/Transit – Full Cover -“Blanket Cover” or “Itemised Cover” – Rate 2.5% ($25.00/$1000) of your Declared Value (Min Premium $350.00) which is equivalent to $14,000 of contents cover.

Note : ‘Blanket Cover’- Is Full Cover without the need to complete all individual items on the declaration. Complete “Total” amount to insure.

Storage Extension – Full Cover (Per Month) – Rate 0.25% ($2.50/$1000) of Declared Value (Min Premium $35.00/ Month) which is equivalent to $14,000 of contents cover. This cover is an extension of a move insured and performed by the Transcorp Team or its representatives.

Melbourne/Victoria Removalist Insurance Rates for Transit, Removal & Storage

Note: For ALL Melbourne insurance options there is a minimum charge (Refer below) and as a guide we strongly recommend you consider the value of your home contents policy or perhaps consider the industry average per m3 is $1000/ m3 moved. Therefore, as an example, a 20m3 move could be insured as $20,000 of contents value.

Declared Value Of Your Goods    $Your Value (refer Insurance Declaration that you completed)

Removal/Transit – Full Cover -“Blanket Cover” or “Itemised Cover” – Rate 1.75% ($17.50/$1000) of your Declared Value (Min Premium $245.00) which is equivalent to $14,000 of contents cover.

Note: ‘Blanket Cover’- Is Full Cover without the need to complete all individual items on the declaration. Complete “Total” amount to insure.

Storage Extension – Full Cover (Per Month) – Rate 0.25% ($2.50/$1000) of Declared Value (Min Premium $35.00/ Month) which is equivalent to $14,000 of contents cover. This cover is an extension of a move insured and performed by the Transcorp Team or its representatives.

The policy is subject to conditions, limits and exclusions on cover, which are explained in the policy wording.

By completing and sending the Insurance Declaration, you also acknowledge that you downloaded and carefully read the FSG, PDS documents & the Policy Wording (Insurance Pack) and agree to the terms and conditions.
